Ramón Díaz linked to potential River Plate return in 2027

Speculation is growing regarding the potential return of Ramón Díaz to River Plate for the 2027 season. The possibility gained momentum after Díaz and his son, Emiliano, rejected a coaching proposal from the Brazilian club Corinthians. Emiliano Díaz indicated that his priority was to support his father in fulfilling his “last great dream in football,” a statement widely interpreted as a reference to returning to River Plate.

Adding to the rumors, former River Plate president Rodolfo D’Onofrio engaged with a social media post by Emiliano Díaz, a gesture that has fueled fan expectations. While no official negotiations have been confirmed, Díaz remains a primary candidate for the club's future technical direction.

Currently, Leonardo Ponzio is serving as the interim manager. His continuity depends on upcoming results, with reports suggesting he must secure specific points in upcoming matches to maintain his position through the Superclásico.
