Ramos Arizpe, Mexico Responds to Flooding After Tuesday’s Heavy Rains
Heavy rains on Tuesday, 4 August 2026, caused flooding, water accumulation, fallen trees and a downed power cable in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila. Municipal authorities, under Mayor Tomás Gutiérrez Merino, deployed Public Security, Civil Protection and Firefighters to address the situation.
Crews cleared trash, branches and trunks from the Flores Castro bridge to restore water flow, removed a vehicle stranded on José María Morelos boulevard, and lifted a tree that had fallen onto a taxi on Fidel Velázquez boulevard – the driver was unharmed. Water levels receded at a residence on Melchor Ocampo street as the rain eased, and a fallen cable at the intersection of Melchor Ocampo and Gustavo Espinosa Mireles was cordoned off for safety. Personnel also assisted a home in the Torremolinos colonia affected by water ingress.
The municipal government urged residents to avoid flooded areas, report hazards, and use emergency numbers 844 4886981 and 911.
