Ranabaali teaser features Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna

The teaser for the upcoming period epic Ranabaali has been released, featuring actors Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna. Directed by Rahul Sankrityan and backed by Mythri Movie Makers, the film is set against the historical backdrop of the Madras Famine of 1876–1878, a period of drought and colonial-era hardship in southern and western India.

While the film is a fictional narrative rather than a direct biopic, it draws inspiration from the struggles of people in the Rayalaseema region during British rule. Vijay Deverakonda portrays Ranabaali, a man rising against oppression, while Rashmika Mandanna plays his wife, Jayamma. The cast also includes Arnold Vosloo as the antagonist, Sir Theodore Hector.

The production aims for cultural authenticity by focusing on the landscape, dialect, and traditions of Rayalaseema. The film features music by the composer duo Ajay-Atul and is scheduled for release on October 16, 2026.
