Ranchi police recover abducted child and arrest five suspects

Police have successfully recovered a four-year-old child who was abducted from outside the Ranchi railway station premises on September 24. The child was found safe in the Threepahar area of Sahibganj district approximately 48 hours after the incident.

Following the disappearance, a special investigation team was formed under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Rakesh Ranjan. Investigators utilized CCTV footage, technical surveillance, and human intelligence to track the child's movement outside of Ranchi.

Through coordination with police in other districts, authorities arrested one suspect near the Dhanbad railway station. Subsequent operations in Sahibganj led to the arrest of four additional suspects and the recovery of the child. Preliminary investigations suggest the involvement of an inter-district kidnapping gang. Police are currently questioning the five arrested individuals to determine the motive behind the abduction and to identify other potential gang members.
