Rangers prepare for Nicolas Raskin exit as McInnes promises new signing

Rangers manager Derek McInnes told the press that the club expects to confirm another signing within the next 48 hours, ahead of their season‑opening match against Dundee United. He said the focus is on adding a defender and a winger, with one deal likely permanent and another possibly a loan.

Midfielder Nicolas Raskin is out of action until after his post‑World Cup break and is described as a potential “flight risk”. Rangers have already reinforced the midfield, signing three defensive midfielders – Dan Neil, Vanja Dragojevic and Cammy Devlin – and have seven new players on their books this summer. Interest in Raskin has intensified, with Spanish side Real Betis marking him as a target and Italian clubs Villarreal and AS Roma reportedly in advanced talks, Villarreal said to have the upper hand. An offer above £20 million is expected. The club is also in talks with Bologna over Scotland midfielder Lewis Ferguson, who is valued at roughly £15.5 million.

Fans can purchase a heavily discounted 1980/81 League Cup final shirt as the new Scottish Premiership campaign approaches.
