Raphaël Glucksmann begins social-democratic campaign in France

Raphaël Glucksmann, leader of Place publique, has launched his first campaign tour following his designation as the social-democratic left candidate. His first official visit took place in Amiens to visit a local mission focused on the professional and social integration of youth.

Glucksmann previously participated in a political party meeting at Matignon alongside Socialist Party leader Olivier Faure. During this meeting, he presented proposals aimed at defusing the current social crisis and urged the government to address public demands.

While some political observers have questioned the timing of his first appearance—ten days after his primary victory—his team maintains that previous scheduled trips were postponed due to recent violence on October 17. Despite the delayed start, recent polls suggest Glucksmann is gaining momentum, placing him in close competition with Jean-Luc Mélenchon for a spot in the second round of the presidential election.
