Rapid Bucharest aims for squad overhaul as coach Pancu calls for more signings
Coach Daniel Pancu, newly appointed at Rapid Bucharest after a tense split with CFR Cluj, has urged majority owner Dan Șucu to fund a serious summer transfer campaign. The club has already secured Vladan Bubanja and Liberian striker Mohammed Kamara, with Kamara saying, “I am very excited and look forward to playing in front of the fans.” Pancu says the team needs further reinforcements to compete in European competitions.
In the same window, Rapid announced the departure of midfielder Tobias Christensen to Poland’s Wisła Kraków for €700,000, as confirmed by sporting director Victor Angelescu. The sale recoups part of the €700,000 paid for the player in 2024 and clears space for new signings that fit Pancu’s tactical vision.
