Rapid Bucharest striker Borisav Burmaz injured before pre‑season camp

Rapid Bucharest’s 25‑year‑old Serbian forward Borisav Burmaz suffered a knee sprain, re‑injuring the same anterior cruciate ligament that required surgery last season. The setback occurred only a few days before the team’s pre‑season camp in Bad Leonfelden, Austria, and is expected to keep him out for two to three weeks, causing him to miss the entire training period.

Burmaz joined Rapid in January 2024 for a reported €700,000 transfer fee. After missing most of the previous season due to the injury, he returned to the squad in April, scoring seven goals in 19 appearances and contributing intermittently in the 2024‑25 campaign. The club’s pre‑season schedule includes friendly matches against CS Afumaţi and others before departing for Austria on 29 June.
