Rapid KL to provide 24-hour transport for Malaysia National Day

Rapid KL has announced that its rail and bus services will operate 24 hours a day from August 30 to August 31 to facilitate public movement during Malaysia’s National Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya.

The 24-hour operations include all Rapid KL rail services, specifically the LRT, MRT, and Monorail, as well as the BRT Sunway Line and selected Rapid KL On-Demand van routes. To manage the expected surge in passengers, train frequencies will be increased on major routes and adjusted based on real-time demand and station congestion.

To assist commuters traveling to the celebration sites, 103 free shuttle buses will be deployed. These services include routes from Putrajaya Sentral to Jalan Tun Abdul Razak (Presint 2) and from the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) to Jalan Tun Hussein (Presint 3). Over 5,000 frontline workers will be deployed in shifts to manage crowds and ensure operational safety.
