Rapper Cartel Bo Arrested on Kidnapping and Assault Charges
Houston rapper Cartel Bo, whose legal name is Warren Brown, was taken into custody on July 25 and is being held without bail. He faces felony kidnapping charges for allegedly holding the mother of his three children in a locked closet, where she was also sexually assaulted, as well as family‑violence assault and assault causing bodily injury charges related to the same woman and an Uber driver.
The victim escaped the closet still handcuffed after a neighbor discovered her at a nearby Waffle House and called police. Investigators recovered zip ties, a deadbolt and fast‑food wrappers from the scene. Cartel Bo is scheduled for a felony hearing on August 3 and a misdemeanor hearing on August 7. His attorney, Sam Milledge, said the allegations are “not the prettiest” but noted he has dealt with worse cases.
