Vice President Raquel Peña meets with community leaders in Hermanas Mirabal

Dominican Vice President Raquel Peña met with social and productive sector representatives in the Hermanas Mirabal province to discuss community needs and development proposals. Organized by the local Chamber of Commerce and Production, the meeting focused on critical infrastructure demands, including the improvement of roads, inter-parcel paths, water services, and the expansion of community care spaces.

Key proposals presented by community leaders included the advancement of the Mirabal Law, the construction of a community center for senior citizens, the creation of a childcare center, and the completion of educational facilities. Participants also highlighted the need for the Salcedo-Gaspar Hernández road reconstruction and the Cenoví River dam project.

During the session, a power outage occurred while community members were discussing electricity service failures, a recurring issue in the region. In response to the discussions, government representatives and social sectors agreed to hold technical meetings to evaluate the feasibility of the initiatives and establish priority mechanisms for follow-up.
