Rías Baixas wineries accelerate recruitment for early grape harvest

Wineries in the Rías Baixas region, specifically in O Salnés and O Baixo Miño, are intensifying recruitment efforts for the upcoming grape harvest. Due to an early harvest expected to begin in the second half of August, there is an urgent demand for various roles including cutters, loaders, tractor drivers, and forklift operators.

In the O Salnés subzone, recruitment is targeting at least 200 workers to cover vacancies. Wage offerings range from approximately 9.36 to 14 euros gross per hour, depending on the specific tasks and qualifications, such as forklift operation. Some wineries are also providing production-based incentives.

In the O Baixo Miño area, companies like SYNERGIE Vigo are seeking specialized personnel for municipalities such as Tomiño, Tui, and Baiona. Requirements for these roles include specific certifications, such as valid licenses for forklift operation or phytosanitary product handling. Candidates are generally expected to have their own transportation to reach dispersed vineyard locations.
