Rasht fire spreads from villas to five-story apartment building
A major fire broke out on Busar Boulevard in Rasht on Friday evening, affecting two villas and a five-story apartment building. The blaze reportedly spread rapidly from the villas to the apartment rooftop due to the presence of Isogam-coated walls on an adjacent structure.
Shahram Momeni, head of the Rasht Fire and Safety Services, stated that an emergency operation was declared, involving 12 fire engines and 31 firefighters dispatched from five nearby stations. Firefighters faced challenges because the apartment building lacked a dry riser, forcing them to transport hoses manually through stairwells to control the flames.
The cause of the fire and the specific usage of the two villas involved are currently under investigation by experts.
