Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı Named as Possible Secret Witness in Turkish Media Probe

Turkish prosecutors are investigating a media network that includes Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı, journalist Cem Küçük and TV presenter Tahir Sarıkaya. All three have been detained on charges of illegal betting, money‑laundering, extortion and fraud, with authorities saying the case involves millions of lira.

Journalist Fatih Altaylı wrote that prosecutors’ “confidential witness” document points to Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı as the likely informant, stating, “Savcıların elindeki itirafçı metnini görenlere göre bu itirafçı kuvvetle muhtemel Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı.” Kütahyalı’s lawyers have announced they will file criminal complaints against those spreading the claim.

The probe has sparked speculation about further targets. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s cousin, journalist Cengiz Er, posted that journalist Ersoy Dede may be the next figure to face action, linking him to the same “Rasim‑Cem‑Tahir” network. The investigation also highlights alleged PR‑agency activities, large cash flows, and connections to political figures.

Altaylı warned that the inquiry could expand to additional media personalities, underscoring the broader implications for Turkey’s press and political landscape.
