Journalist Fatih Altaylı reported that a prosecutor’s “confidential witness” document suggests Kütahyalı may be the informant, stating, “Savcıların elindeki itirafçı metnini görenlere göre bu itirafçı kuvvetle muhtemel Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı.” Altaylı further suggested Kütahyalı might face early release by sharing information regarding Küçük and Sarıkaya. Kütahyalı’s lawyer, Burak Mengü, denied these claims, asserting his client has not become a confessor and announcing intentions to file criminal complaints against those spreading the allegations.

On August 21, Kütahyalı was released from detention following an ex officio decision by the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Organized Crime Investigation Bureau. The prosecutor determined that the “strong suspicion of crime had diminished” after reviewing documents and petitions from Kütahyalı’s legal team. The defense provided evidence correlating dates and amounts between suspicious money transfers and POS withdrawals, including identity and contact information for individuals involved in the transactions to support his defense against the illegal betting and money laundering charges.
