Italian towns launch summer festivals, exhibitions and cultural programmes in July 2026
A series of cultural events are scheduled across Italy for July 2026. The University of L'Aquila continues its “Rocca Calascio – Luce d’Abruzzo” project with a summer school, public conferences and restoration workshops in the medieval village of Calascio.
The contemporary‑theatre “Aria Aperta” festival opens its sixth edition in Casalgrande’s Villa Segrè on 30 June, presenting the productions *Lemon Therapy* and *Cosa bolle in pentola* before concluding with the dinner‑theatre show *Saga Salsa* on 2 July.
In L’Aquila, the MuBAq Museum hosts the second edition of “Seminiamo Arte VI” (1 July), pairing war‑zone photography by Pino Bertelli with AI‑generated images by Antonio Gasbarrini to explore the loss of childhood.
Bene Vagienna will showcase the collective exhibition “Scene da Mondo (ir)responsabile #4” from 5 July to 27 September, featuring ten Italian artists addressing social and environmental themes.

Genova inaugurates the seventh Biennale “Le Latitudini dell’Arte” (3 July) with twenty artists—ten Italian and ten French—exploring nomadism and language.
The “Vesuvio sotto le stelle” series continues its night‑time hikes on the slopes of Mount Vesuvius throughout July and August, organised by Vesuvio Natura da Esplorare.
