Raye battles 1.8 million bot registrations for London concert
British singer Raye reported that her upcoming concert, ‘This Symphony May Contain Hope’ at London’s Royal Albert Hall, has been overwhelmed by automated activity. While the venue has a capacity of only 5,000, more than 1.8 million registrations were submitted for tickets.
Raye attributed the massive surge to scalpers using artificial intelligence-powered bots to create ‘hundreds of thousands of fake registrations.’ To protect fans and ensure tickets are sold at face value, her team is manually reviewing the sign-up list to identify genuine supporters and provide them with exclusive access codes for the presale.
The incident highlights growing concerns within the music industry regarding the use of AI to bypass ticketing safeguards and the difficulty of preventing predatory resale in the digital age.
