Rayo Vallecano accuses Madrid government of manipulating stadium audit

Rayo Vallecano has accused the Community of Madrid of manipulating an audit report used to justify the temporary closure of the Estadio de Vallecas. The club claims that the document presented as a July 2026 audit actually originated from a file created on December 12, 2025, and was subsequently converted to PDF and signed months later.

The club alleges that regional authorities withheld the results of this inspection for over seven months without notifying them of any deficiencies. Rayo Vallecano maintains that they have already submitted valid documentation regarding electrical installations, fire protection systems, and water control measures, including an electrical inspection certificate valid until 2028.

The conflict stems from the regional government's decision to suspend the stadium's concession, which was originally set to last until 2039, citing safety concerns. The club is currently contesting the validity of the audit and seeking to return to their home stadium.
