Rayo Vallecano blocks Madrid officials from Vallecas stadium

For the second consecutive day, operatives sent by the Community of Madrid were unable to enter the Vallecas stadium to carry out urgent safety work. The access door to the locker‑room area remained locked, and club staff allowed only internal cleaning crews inside.

The regional government has filed a police complaint and issued an order to extinguish the stadium concession held by Rayo Vallecano, citing an audit that found severe deficiencies in security, hygiene and maintenance. Madrid plans to assume responsibility for the remedial works and aims to return the team to the venue as quickly as possible. In the meantime, Rayo will have to play its early league matches at an alternative ground selected with LaLiga and the Spanish Football Federation.

Fans expressed frustration, with long‑time members saying they would leave their seats empty if the club is forced to relocate, underscoring the strong community ties to the stadium.
