Rayo Vallecano denied request to play at Vallecas stadium

Rayo Vallecano is facing uncertainty regarding its ability to host its upcoming La Liga match against Deportivo Alavés at the Estadio de Vallecas. Although the club submitted reports and audits to the Comunidad de Madrid—the stadium's owner—aiming to prove the facility is fit for use, the regional government has rejected the club's request for a precautionary measure to allow the game to proceed at the venue.

The stadium's concession was previously withdrawn due to what authorities described as “grave security deficiencies” and a “generalized situation of obsolescence.” While the club has been conducting maintenance work, including treating the pitch with heavy machinery, the rejection of the request means the match scheduled for Thursday is expected to be moved to Butarque.
