RC Vannes launches Top 14 comeback with training camp in Ploërmel

French rugby side RC Vannes is preparing for a return to the Top 14 after its first stint in the elite league. Manager Jean‑Noël Spitzer said the pre‑season focuses on solidifying a more balanced squad, expanding the coaching staff and applying lessons learned from the previous season. The team began its preparation early, training at the facilities of RC Ploërmel in the town of Ploërmel, where about 700 supporters and dozens of local children gathered to watch the session. The camp also includes a short altitude stint at La Plagne from 1 to 7 August. Spitzer emphasized the need for collective cohesion, improved automaticity and the integration of young players from the club’s academy. While the recruitment done over the summer is yet to be tested on the field, the manager believes the group is now more homogeneous and better able to handle the demands of France’s top rugby competition.
