Eder Sarabia appointed RCD Espanyol head coach until 2028

RCD Espanyol has officially appointed Eder Sarabia as the new head coach of its first team. The 46-year-old Basque manager has signed a contract that runs through June 30, 2028.

Sarabia succeeds Manolo González, who was dismissed following a 4-3 loss to fourth-tier Sestao River in the Copa del Rey and a difficult run in LaLiga, where the club has struggled in the relegation zone. Sarabia will be joined by a technical staff including Jon López, Jon Moreno, Aitor Unzué, and former Espanyol player Álvaro González.

Sarabia brings significant experience to the role, having previously served as an assistant coach to Quique Setién at UD Las Palmas, Real Betis, and FC Barcelona. His experience as a head coach includes stints with FC Andorra and Elche CF. His official presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, November 3, at the RCDE Stadium.
