RCMP arrest five men in connection with extortion and explosives case
Five men are facing various charges, including extortion, firearms offenses, and explosives-related crimes, following a 16-month RCMP investigation known as Project E_PURSUANCE. The investigation was launched after the owners of an auto dealership reported significant extortion demands, which were subsequently followed by targeted shootings and arson attacks at business locations in Langley and Surrey during the summer of 2025.
Authorities arrested one individual, 23-year-old Sanket Singla, upon his arrival at Pearson International Airport on October 1. Four other men were arrested in Surrey. The RCMP reported the seizure of firearms and suspected narcotics, including cocaine, fentanyl, and opium, during the operation. The BC Prosecution Service has laid multiple charges under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act against the suspects.
