RCMP investigation into extortion and explosives

Overview

Following a 16-month investigation titled ‘Project E_PURSUANCE’, the RCMP has arrested five men in connection with a series of crimes involving extortion, firearms, and explosives.

The investigation originated from reports by auto dealership owners regarding extortion demands, which escalated to targeted shootings and arson attacks in Langley and Surrey during the summer of 2025.

Authorities arrested one individual, 23-year-old Sanket Singla, at Pearson International Airport, while four other men were apprehended in Surrey. During the operation, the RCMP seized firearms and various suspected narcotics, including cocaine, fentanyl, and opium. The BC Prosecution Service has laid multiple charges under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
