Real estate transactions decline in Buenos Aires and Buenos Aires Province

Real estate activity in Argentina showed mixed results in September. In the City of Buenos Aires, property deeds fell 5.5% year-on-year to 6,612 registrations, although this represented a 9.2% increase compared to August. The total value of transactions in the city rose 4.8% to 1.218 trillion pesos. Mortgage-backed deeds in the city fell 15.5% compared to the same month last year.

In the Province of Buenos Aires, property sales during the third quarter of 2026 decreased by 8% compared to the same period in 2025, totaling 37,381 operations. While September saw a 6% monthly increase over August, mortgage-based transactions for the third quarter were down 28.9% year-on-year. Despite these declines, officials noted a monthly uptick in mortgage activity in September, raising expectations for the end of the year.
