Real Estelí defeats Alianza FC in Copa Centroamericana

Real Estelí defeated Alianza FC in a Copa Centroamericana 2026 Group B match held at Estadio Independencia in Nicaragua. The victory allows the Nicaraguan side, known as ‘Tren del Norte’, to challenge for the top of the group standings.

Real Estelí took an early lead in the 4th minute through a header by Héctor Aranda following a free kick. Although Alianza FC controlled much of the play and had several opportunities to equalize—including hitting the post and having shots saved by the goalkeeper—they were unable to convert their chances. A defensive error in coverage eventually allowed Real Estelí to secure the win.

Prior to this match, Alianza FC held a perfect record in the tournament, while Real Estelí entered the fixture following a 2-0 win against Antigua GFC.
