Rebel Wolves' The Blood of Dawnwalker sells 1 million copies
The Blood of Dawnwalker, the debut title from Rebel Wolves, has achieved significant commercial success, surpassing one million copies sold within its first few days of release. Developed by a team of industry veterans, including former CD Projekt RED staff, the dark fantasy action RPG was produced on a budget of approximately $40 million (160 million PLN). This development cost was funded by NetEase, which holds a 26% stake in the studio. The game is being published by Bandai Namco.
Critics and players have praised the title, though discussions continue regarding its core time-management mechanic, which limits player actions to a 30-day window. Director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz has indicated that while the time mechanic is central to the current game, the studio may experiment with different approaches for potential sequels. Additionally, Rebel Wolves has confirmed that a ‘New Game Plus’ mode is in development to enhance replayability by allowing players to carry over equipment and skills.
Technical updates have also been released to address stability and bugs, including issues with NPC dialogue and shader compilation on PC.
