Örebro residents collect 7.6 tons of litter during World Cleanup Day

During World Cleanup Day, organized by Håll Sverige Rent, 4,759 participants in Örebro County collected over 7.6 tons of litter. While Degerfors saw the highest participation rate relative to its population, the most waste was recovered in Örebro municipality, totaling 3,771 kg.

Nationally, the initiative saw 144,686 people across Sweden collect a total of 233 tons of trash. Joakim Brodahl, vice CEO of Håll Sverige Rent, emphasized that while community engagement is high, political decisions are necessary to prevent litter from reaching the ground in the first place.
