Rechterensedijk Road Closure Near Dalfsen, Netherlands
The narrow Rechterensedijk road linking Dalfsen and Ommen will be fully closed to motorised traffic from 31 August until 9 October 2026 for extensive resurfacing work. The one‑kilometre stretch between the Poppenallee round‑about and the Dalmsholterweg will receive a new multi‑layer asphalt structure, with the existing surface, grass‑concrete stones and passing bays removed, the sub‑soil excavated and a fresh foundation laid. Large trees lining the route will be protected, with surrounding branches trimmed and protective barriers installed.
During the closure a diversion via the N35, Heinoseweg and other local roads will be signposted, while the adjacent cycle path remains open. Local cyclists have reported that marking posts are already being placed on spots that need extra attention, such as where former tree stumps remain, indicating that preparatory work has begun.
Drivers accustomed to using this historic shortcut are advised to expect additional travel time and follow the posted detours.
