Record TV maintains second place in São Paulo ratings, beating SBT

Record TV secured the isolated second‑place position across all dayparts in the Greater São Paulo market, posting an average of 4.9 points and an 11.1% share, roughly double SBT's figures. The lead was evident in morning, afternoon and prime‑time slots, with programmes such as Balanço Geral Manhã, Fala Brasil, Hoje em Dia and Cidade Alerta outperforming SBT counterparts.

SBT’s Ratinho show continued to lead its own segment, registering a 3.64‑point average and a 9% advantage over Record in a specific evening window, but overall the network remained third in the market.

Amid the ratings battle, Record announced plans to court presenter Tiago Leifert, joining a talent contest that also involves Globo and SBT. The network highlighted Leifert’s potential to bridge entertainment and sports, especially as Record expands its football coverage.

Record’s Thursday programming underscores its strategy, featuring live football (Botafogo vs Santos) and the finale of the reality show Casa do Patrão, aiming to reinforce its weekend audience.
