Red Bull‑BORA‑hansgrohe appoints Evenepoel and Lipowitz as co‑leaders for 2026 Tour de France
Red Bull‑BORA‑hansgrohe has confirmed a 13‑rider roster for the 2026 Tour de France, centred on a dual‑leadership model featuring Belgian world champion Remco Evenepoel and German podium finisher Florian Lipowitz. The team will start in Barcelona on 4 July and finish in Paris on 26 July, targeting a place on the overall podium. Team boss Ralph Denk said the two “are equal and will decide on the road who will take the lead,” adding that the squad “is one of the most complete teams we are bringing to the start.”
Supporting riders include former Giro d’Italia winner Jai Hindley (Australia), Belgian Maxim Van Gils, Italian Mattia Cattaneo, Slovenian Jan Tratnik, German Nico Denz and Dutch Tim van Dijke. The lineup omits any dedicated sprinters to concentrate all resources on the general‑classification battle. Evenepoel, who finished third in the 2024 Tour, said “the yellow is a dream” and highlighted his improved fitness after losing weight while maintaining power. The team’s strategy aims to use the varied strengths of its leaders and domestiques to seize opportunities throughout the three‑week race.
