Red Bull's Max Verstappen raises concerns over RB22 handling
Former Red Bull driver Sergio Perez said the team’s project was built around Max Verstappen, with senior engineers and technical staff focused on the four‑time champion. Perez explained that while he received support, the team’s resources were primarily directed toward Verstappen’s performance, and that upgrades often widened any performance gap between him and his teammates.
Red Bull technical director Pierre Vassae detailed the ongoing difficulties with the RB22, noting that the car’s unpredictable behaviour at its aerodynamic limits stems from a combination of balance and stability issues rather than a single fault. These handling problems have reduced Verstappen’s confidence in the front end of the car, prompting the team to pursue broader aerodynamic and mechanical improvements to give the champion a more predictable and stable racing tool.
