Red Cross Montenegro announces social transport for elderly

The Red Cross of Montenegro held a national conference in Podgorica to conclude the ‘HOPE – Holistic Protection in the Community for the Elderly and Informal Caregivers’ project. Supported by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection, the project aimed to improve community-based social protection and empower informal caregivers.

Following the project's conclusion, Red Cross President Mitar Vučković announced the launch of ‘HOPE II’ on November 1. This upcoming phase will focus on ensuring the sustainability of support centers in Cetinje and Nikšić. Additionally, the initiative will introduce a new pilot service providing social transport for elderly individuals living in rural areas to improve their access to essential services.
