Red Lobster closes multiple restaurant locations in California and Alabama

Red Lobster is closing multiple restaurant locations as part of a broader effort to reduce costs. In California, the Palm Desert location, which had been operating since 2012, is scheduled to close around September 6 or 7.

In Alabama, the longtime Montgomery location on Atlanta Highway near Eastdale Mall is also set to close on September 6.

Red Lobster CEO Damola Ademolekun previously noted that the company needs to close more locations to address a damaged brand and manage expenses. The chain has closed over 50 restaurants across the country as part of its ongoing business evaluations.
