Rede Globo seeks to repatriate narrator Galvão Bueno from SBT

Rede Globo is making a strategic effort to repatriate veteran narrator Galvão Bueno from SBT. The broadcaster has reportedly prepared a definitive five-year contract, valid until December 2031, which could include monthly payments exceeding R$ 1 million.

The proposal aims to secure Bueno's presence for the coverage of the next FIFA World Cup and includes the narration of strategic matches in the Campeonato Brasileiro. Additionally, the plan involves the creation of an exclusive weekly program on open television and a clause that could allow his return to Formula 1 broadcasts between 2027 and 2029.

This move follows a previous negotiation that failed because the terms did not meet Bueno's expectations compared to his current arrangement with SBT. Globo intends to present this final offer soon, seeking a response before its upcoming advertising upfront to position the narrator as a key asset for its 2027 programming.
