TV Globo talent recruitment from SBT

TV Globo is reportedly pursuing strategic talent acquisitions from SBT to strengthen its programming lineup.

Initial reports indicated that Globo is considering a monthly offer of approximately R$ 3 million to recruit presenter Celso Portiolli, the host of ‘Domingo Legal’. This move is intended to restructure Sunday programming and potentially reduce SBT’s audience reach in that time slot. The proposal may also involve comedian Tiago Barnabé and could include a period where Portiolli remains off-air to develop new formats, such as a Sunday night game show.

In a separate effort, Globo is seeking to repatriate veteran narrator Galvão Bueno. The broadcaster has reportedly prepared a five-year contract, valid until December 2031, with monthly payments potentially exceeding R$ 1 million. This plan aims to secure Bueno for the next FIFA World Cup, strategic Campeonato Brasileiro matches, and an exclusive weekly program, with potential involvement in Formula 1 broadcasts between 2027 and 2029.
