Referee resigns in Cyprus as Greek disability groups protest service exclusions

In Cyprus, referee Michalis Metaxas has resigned from the Cyprus Football Association (CFA) and requested his removal from the referee registries. In Greece, the Confederation of Associations for Persons with Disabilities (E.S.A. meA.) has called on Social Cohesion Minister Domna Michailidou to immediately lift exclusions from the ‘Personal Assistant’ service. The organization argues that current criteria for the national program exclude individuals with disabilities, chronic, or rare conditions based on horizontal administrative or fiscal restrictions rather than individualized needs. The Confederation expressed concerns regarding the validity periods of disability certificates and technical issues involving the digitalization of certifications from military health committees.
