Female football referee decline in Northern Cyprus

Overview

The number of female referees within the Northern Cyprus Turkish Football Federation (KTFF) Central Referee Board has experienced a significant decline. For the 2026-2027 football season, only 13 women are scheduled to serve out of a total of 95 referees.

This reduction follows a trend in which 15 female referees resigned over the previous two seasons, with 6 departures in 2024-2025 and 9 in 2025-2026. The remaining female officials include one Super League Assistant Referee, four B Class referees, and eight C Class referees.
