Reform UK sidelines crypto industry at upcoming conference
Reform UK is distancing itself from the cryptocurrency industry ahead of its upcoming three-day conference in Birmingham. In a departure from previous years, where digital payment firms like Zebec served as headline sponsors, no crypto brands are listed in the current sponsor lineup. Reports indicate that the party has also removed previous perks for crypto executives, such as complimentary passes and private meetings with senior officials.
The shift follows scrutiny regarding a £5 million gift from a bitcoin billionaire to Nigel Farage. While the party previously championed digital assets through initiatives like the ‘Cryptoassets and Digital Finance Bill’, that policy is no longer featured on its website.
Instead, the party is focusing on broader corporate and international engagement. Attendees for the conference include representatives from major companies such as TikTok, JCB, Heathrow Airport, and Keltbray Group Ltd. Additionally, Reform UK expects diplomatic presence from various nations, including the US, India, the UAE, Italy, Hungary, and Poland, as well as French National Rally leader Jordan Bardella.
