Reggia di Caserta opens free Sunday, photo exhibit and Mozart concerts

The Royal Palace of Caserta (Reggia di Caserta) will host several cultural events in July 2026. On Sunday 5 July the palace participates in the national "Domenica al Museo" programme, offering free admission to the Royal Apartments and the Royal Park; other sections such as the Vanvitelli rooms and the Grand Gallery remain closed. A limited number of complimentary tickets can be booked online from 29 June or collected at the ticket office, and visitors will be able to see the restored Peschiera Grande and Michelangelo Pistoletto’s "Terzo Paradiso" installation.

A photographic exhibition titled "RI – Conoscere il Litorale Domizio" opens on 2 July in the State Archive housed within the palace. Curated by photographers Gianni Fiorito, Giovanni Izzo and Salvatore Laporta, the show displays around 90 images that trace the development, decline and recent regeneration of the Domizio coastal area over the past six decades.

From 4 to 17 July the venue also presents the "Summer Concert – Mozart & C." series in the Cappella Palatina. Three concerts, performed by the Orchestra da Camera di Caserta, feature works by Mozart, Haydn, Cimarosa, Paisiello, Hasse and Barbella, linking the musical heritage of Naples and Vienna and recreating routes visited by Mozart in the surrounding region.
