Reggia di Caserta cultural outreach and event growth 2026
Overview
In July 2026, the Royal Palace of Caserta participated in the national “Domenica al Museo” programme, offering free entry to the Royal Apartments and park alongside a photographic exhibition and a Mozart‑focused concert series. To encourage cultural tourism, the palace launched the “Reggia Session 2026” programme, providing a 50% discount to attendees of the “Un’Estate da Belvedere” summer music festival.
On 2 August, the palace offered free admission to the apartments and park via online reservations. During this period, a public tender was also launched for official Reggia merchandise to generate new revenue and boost the monument’s international profile, a move interim director Antonio Tarasco compared to branding efforts at Versailles and Schönbrunn.
The palace’s “Alba alla Reggia” sunrise event series has seen significant growth. The inaugural event on 1 August drew approximately 2,500 visitors—more than triple previous attendance—featuring a classical concert by the Orchestra Filarmonica Campana and guided tours. Following this success, a second “Alba alla Reggia” event held later in August drew a record crowd of over 3,500 people. This second iteration featured performances by Progetto Sonora and the Associazione Arabesque, including musical sets by the Sonora Wind Trio and narrative journeys through the English Garden.
