Reggio Calabria hosts IX National Demetra Award

The IX edition of the National Demetra “Irene Tripodi” Award is set to take place at the Rocco Polimeni Tennis Club in Reggio Calabria. This event serves as the climax of the second edition of the festival organized by the Associazione Italiana Parchi Culturali Nazionale ETS (A.I.Par.C.).

The festival features an eight-day program exploring literature, archaeology, history, heritage, and contemporary art, focusing on the identity of Reggio Calabria and its connection to the Mediterranean. The cultural journey includes activities such as the “Calabria Terra Mia” competition for high school students and various exhibitions and musical performances, including a lyrical concert by the “Francesco Cilea” Conservatory.

Salvatore Timpano, president of A.I.Par.C., stated that the initiative aims to transform the award into a unified cultural project that engages with the city through themes of identity, memory, and rebirth.
