Francesco Cannizzaro launches itinerant sessions of Reggio Calabria Metropolitan Council

The newly elected Metropolitan Council of Reggio Calabria held its inaugural meeting in Molochio, marking the first time council sessions will be held outside the city hall. Mayor Francesco Cannizzaro announced a series of itinerant meetings to bring the council closer to the province’s municipalities, starting with Molochio. The council approved its agenda, validated the newly elected councillors, and adopted budget adjustments for the 2026‑2028 financial plan. Subsequent sessions are planned to rotate among other towns, emphasizing territorial cohesion and direct citizen engagement.

The inauguration also took place at Palazzo Alvaro, where the council unanimously approved all agenda items and pledged to represent the entire metropolitan area. The new leadership aims to improve coordination across local administrations and address regional challenges through on‑site deliberations.
