Reggio Calabria Municipality hires twelve former interns as permanent staff

The Municipality of Reggio Calabria has officially hired twelve former interns as permanent employees. The contract signing ceremony took place at Palazzo San Giorgio, led by Mayor Francesco Cannizzaro and Personnel Assessor Antonino Maiolino.

This stabilization follows a complex administrative and regulatory process involving legislative amendments introduced by Cannizzaro during his parliamentary mandate. The initiative was supported through institutional cooperation between the former deputy, Calabria Region President Roberto Occhiuto, and Regional Labor Assessor Giovanni Calabrese.

The Calabria Region provided financial backing for the move, investing 54,000 euros per intern to cover the full personnel costs for a three-year period. Local officials stated the measure aims to resolve long-standing precarious employment issues while strengthening the municipal administrative workforce to better serve citizens.
