Reggio Calabria municipal employment stabilization

Overview

The Municipality of Reggio Calabria has transitioned twelve former interns into permanent staff positions. Following a contract signing ceremony at Palazzo San Giorgio led by Mayor Francesco Cannizzaro and Personnel Assessor Antonino Maiolino, the move aims to resolve precarious employment issues and strengthen the municipal workforce.

The stabilization was made possible through legislative amendments introduced by Cannizzaro during his parliamentary mandate, alongside institutional cooperation with Calabria Region President Roberto Occhiuto and Regional Labor Assessor Giovanni Calabrese. To support the initiative, the Calabria Region provided financial backing of 54,000 euros per intern to cover full personnel costs for a three-year period.
