Reggio Calabria to host Il settembre di Demetra cultural festival

The second edition of ‘Il settembre di Demetra’, a festival focused on culture, identity, and rebirth, has been presented in Reggio Calabria. Organized by the Associazione Italiana Parchi Culturali Nazionale ETS (AIParC), the event is scheduled to take place from August 31 to September 7.

During the presentation at Palazzo San Giorgio, local officials and AIParC President Salvatore Timpano emphasized the importance of connecting cultural assets—such as museums, theaters, and castles—to boost local tourism and the economy. Councilman Paolo Bilardi highlighted Reggio Calabria’s strategic position in the Mediterranean and its rich heritage linked to Magna Graecia.

Additionally, political figures have noted the region's strong cultural traditions and its capacity to produce significant intellectual talent, citing recent recognitions of local experts in clinical psychology and psychiatry as evidence of the territory's cultural vitality.
