Italy regional governments announce healthcare and tourism policy updates

Several Italian regional governments have implemented new measures across healthcare, tourism, and social sectors. In Puglia, the Regional Council approved a law granting municipalities the authority to regulate short-term tourist rentals. This legislation allows local administrations in high-density areas to set limits on rental numbers and property-to-guest ratios to protect residential stability.

In Calabria, the regional government authorized ten additional dialysis stations for the Reggio Calabria metropolitan area to improve access for chronic patients without reducing existing services. Meanwhile, the Marche region increased its healthcare personnel spending ceiling by 2 million euros, bringing the total to over 970 million euros. This funding aims to strengthen local services, community houses, and home care, particularly for the elderly.

In Campania, the regional government approved various measures including 15 million euros for mountain communities, 7 million euros for mountain territory protection, and 1 million euros to support victims of crime and organized crime. In Foggia, the municipal council is set to address the olive oil crisis and the opening of a new geriatric ward.
