Reggio Emilia residents meet Mayor regarding Bosco Ospizio redevelopment
Residents of the Bosco Ospizio area in Reggio Emilia met with Mayor Marco Massari to express support for a local redevelopment project. A committee of citizens emphasized that the proposal offers a necessary balance between environmental preservation and the restoration of essential services.
Proponents of the project highlight that it will bring back socio-sanitary services that have been missing since 2005, as well as a supermarket within walking distance. The plan also includes the creation of a 23,000 square meter park that would connect the campus to Campo di Marte 2 and eventually to the Mirabello district via a new underpass.
While the meeting with the Mayor was described as serene, the project remains a subject of debate, with some groups opposing the intervention in favor of climate justice and environmental protection.
