Regional animal health campaigns launch in Bolivia and Argentina
Various regional authorities in Bolivia and Argentina have launched or scheduled animal health campaigns focusing on rabies vaccination and sterilization.
In Bolivia, the Ministry of Health and Sports announced a national mandatory rabies vaccination campaign for dogs and cats. The initiative involves the distribution of over 3 million doses and the mobilization of 22,000 brigades to conduct house-to-house vaccinations and operate fixed points in parks and health centers.
In Argentina, local municipalities are implementing similar programs. In Coronel Dorrego, the Subdirectorate of Bromatology and Zoonosis will provide free rabies vaccinations for dogs and cats older than three months throughout November. The campaign includes participation from local veterinary clinics and scheduled sterilization sessions in San Román and Aparicio.
Additionally, the Municipal Institute of Animal Health (Imusa) in Santa Fe will conduct animal sanitation activities in the Northwest District during November. These services include free castration, vaccination, and deworming, alongside information sessions regarding leptospirosis prevention.
