Regional authorities in Agadez and Diffa launch governance dialogues

Regional authorities in Agadez and Diffa are implementing new dialogue initiatives to address governance and stability. In Agadez, Governor Ibra Boulama Issa has endorsed a public-private cooperation project led by the NGO Jeunesse Paix et Développement (JEPADE) and the German cooperation agency GIZ. The program focuses on strengthening constructive citizen dialogue to improve relations between government decision-makers and the local private sector.

In the Diffa region, Governor Mahamadou Ibrahim Bagadoma presided over a regional dialogue organized by the Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD). The meeting addresses land governance and the management of natural resources, which the Governor identified as a major challenge affecting 11 of the region's 12 communes. The discussions aim to mitigate tensions regarding land access, pastoral resources, and transhumance corridors to protect social cohesion and regional security.
